I managed to get 30 mins sleep last night, and it’s a 5am start to leave Awasi Atacama for Calama airport in northern Chile. It’s another long day of short flights between Calama and Santiago’s International airport, and a 3.5 hour in transit wait for the next flight to Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International airport, commonly known as Ezeiza airport. The LAN airline lounges are very good at Santiago International with well stocked bar fridges and a selection of snacks. Most importantly, a good wi-fi service (free) and comfortable seating makes the short transit a good time to catch up on blog entries and photo editing.
The flight from Santiago to Buenos Aires is only short (less than 2 hours today), and the customs & immigration queue is quick flowing. Manuel Tienda Leon have my name up in lights at their reception desk at Ezeiza airport, and the remis (taxi) is large and roomy and all mine!
By the time my taxi driver has been pulled over by no less than 4 motorcycle police for a traffic offense of some form in Avenida de 9 Julio (talking on his phone was all I could see wrong) by the time I arrive at the Caesar Park hotel and find that the hotel has managed to destroy the handle on my suitcase, I’m wrecked. Time for an early night before another early morning departure to get to Ushuaia, Argentina.
