Off to Venice today on a 2 night glam-packing trip as a side trip from Paris. One of the benefits of renting an apartment in Paris is the ability to lock it up and leave it for short trips away. An overnight bag as luggage means a cheap trip to the airport on the Roissybus (10 Euros), cheap airline (Easyjet – not bad actually, if only they could work out how to load a plane), cheap 90 minutes Alilaguna trip from Marco Polo airport (15 Euros) and a posh hotel (Hilton Molino Stucky). The Molino Stucky is a lovely hotel – a renovated flour mill converted into a 5 star hotel.
The weather in Venice isn’t too bad on arrival – quite bright and sunny. It is meant to deteriorate into rain tomorrow and the following day.
